Toyota Prius HID light issue

Today i had to change out my headlights on my car. It is only 3 years old and has the upgraded HID lights (which i was told should last longer than halogen). I started to Google this issue and found that like other things of late Toyota DOES know about this issue and was doing nothing to fix it. There are hundreds of complaints opened on this very issue. The cost Toyota is charging to replace the lights is ridiculous ($300 a bulb and $600 Labor = $1200 total). Rather than shelling out $1200 bucks to get my lights fixed I looked around the web for other options. I found the bulbs on Ebay from a headlight seller for $60 a pair, same type of bulb Toyota sells. I started to look at how to replace the lights and I learned that you need to remove the whole front of the car to get to the lights. This involved basically ripping the front of the car off. I looked further and found a post that told you exactly how to fix the issue. I could not believe it....There are tons of you tube videos out there showing guys ripping of the front of the car to replace the lights, but this guy said you did not have to do that. I read his instructions and took a mirror i use for shaving out of my bathroom. Armed with a screwdriver and a mirror I was able to remove both headlight bulbs and install the new bulbs in around 45 minutes.... now that I know what I am doing I could do it in less than 15 minutes. I can't believe Toyota is taking advantage of people like that. If anyone has a Toyota Prius with HID lights that are starting flicker and cut off and on, let me know. I can show you how to fix the issue for $60. Sure beats the $1200 that Toyota is charging their customers. Google it. It blows my mind.
